Hi, my name is Thomas De Roeck. I’m 22 years old and master of Product Development, graduated from the University of Antwerp with great distinction. I am fascinated by nature, innovation and technology, especially 3D-printing, a technology I am learning by experimenting with my own 3D-printer. I have experience with prototyping using Arduino, lasercutting, vacuum forming… I also have good knowledge about Solidworks (including Solidworks Simulation, rendering and making technical drawings) and Siemens NX. In my designs, I always try to innovate, do something new and try to integrate fun elements.
In 2020 one of the designs I made together with a co-student, won the Udesign for real people challenge in the product category. Find out more about this project below!
Feel free to look around this site to discover my work. You can view my BIO using the link below, or you can download my portfolio here.
In 2020, I won the Udesign for Real People challenge together with co-student Margot Fonteyn. Our design MOBE was the only winner in the category "Product". MOBE is a wearable allowing users to track and review their own movement smart-sleeves for arms and legs. MOBE can be used to improve sports, like golf or skating, but also aids in the recovery of people suffering from motorial problems, giving them and their physicians the opportunity to review the movements they made at home or during the day. More information can be found here.
The Udesign challenge is an initiative of Inter, the Flemish institute for accesability and gave us the opportunity to go on a studytrip to Italy. All the winners can be found here. You can view our project poster here. Watch our interview (in Dutch) with Lieven Scheire during the award ceremony below.
