De Roeck
Product Developer & Co-founder of Wakaaro
I design things to make an impact: from a wearable sensor for movement rehabilitation to serious games that help organisations make complex topics tangible. At Wakaaro, part of Think Nova, we focus on play that engages people, strengthens them and gets them moving.
From idea to impact
I trained as a product developer, and one question has always stuck with me: how does an idea become something that actually makes an impact?
That question led me to found Wakaaro, where we use gamification and serious games to make complex topics tangible, engaging and actionable. What started as a standalone initiative gradually grew into something bigger.
Today, Wakaaro is part of Think Nova: a broader ecosystem where we design media formats, learning solutions and experiences that turn ideas and content into real impact.

MOBE: an award-winning design for movement rehabilitation
Together with fellow student Margot Fonteyn, I developed MOBE: wearables that track and give feedback on the movement of arms and legs. MOBE helps athletes refine their technique and supports people with motor impairments and their physicians in tracking recovery.
Curious what we could build together?
Whether you're an organisation looking for impact, or just want to compare notes: I'd love to hear from you.
